We are a 501(c)(4) Non-Profit Organization
Just in case you didn’t know … we are a 501(c)(3) organization and have a driving philanthropic goal to help fight the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis. To this end, we sponsor rides and raise funds for the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the National MS Society, culminating annually at the MS150 ride in New Bern. To date, we have raised over $2 million to help find a cure for MS and have been the top fundraising team for several years at this event.
While our name is Team CBC, perhaps we should call it Club CBC. We are an open cycling group made up of cyclists of all ability levels. But … we are a team… a team of people sharing the joys and camaraderie of group cycling and working together to help fight MS and other philanthropic ends.
We are made of men and women of whom have various skill and fitness levels. Our goal is to provide safe, fun and challenging ride opportunities meeting the interests of all club members. With our skills-diverse membership, we help riders enhance their abilities while teaching them to ride more safely.
Challenging rides are available to push one's endurance limits and to develop more advanced skills. Most importantly, we offer rides for all skill levels providing the chance for all members to enjoy the sport of cycling while having fun and developing friendships.
We love to ride. We ride for fun. We ride for exercise. We ride to support bicycling advocacy. We ride to promote safe cycling.
Coastal Cyclists hosts an annual Spring Century (formerly known as The After the Bridge Run Ride) which is our main fundraising source and funds our activities for the year. One of our main reasons for hosting this event is to raise money for the Palmetto Cycling Coalition and Charleston Moves. These cycling advocacy organizations fight to create more and better places for citizens to ride bikes.
Additionally, we host weekly club rides, have an annual oyster roast, and an annual holiday party for our membership.
We hope to see you on the road and trails around the Lowcountry!
